Minutes of May 24, 2004


At 4:05 p.m. the meeting was opened by the Pledge of Allegiance followed the Culinarian’s Code.

    President Pitre welcomed everyone and introduced the officers.

    April 26 minutes were reviewed / moved to accept by Chef T and Carolyn Barrios.

    Chef T presented the Treasurer’s Report. Dr. Bartholomew explained the Scholarship Fund. Bartholomew 1st and Cheryl Johnson 2nd.

    The finances for the chapter – Crystal Culinary Classic is the major fundraiser and the French Quarter Festival (FQF) is another. There is the availability to offer a third dish at FQF. Maybe an internal competition for the 3rd dish. We have until January to decide.

    Classic – Medal categories are offered this year – A, B, C, & D categories. Entry forms are on web and the entrance fee is $50.

    The entry fee for the regular classic is $225 for 1st dish and $25 for each additional dish.

    President Pitre introduced our new web master – Al Oliver. Al has the new site up and running – go to www.acfno.com to view. Everyone Board Member will have the opportunity of an ACFNO email address. Thanks to Al for a job well done.

    Dr. Bartholomew announced that Delgado Community College Culinary Arts department has been approved by National as practical test site.

    Chef Jan Rost thanked everyone for their support during her accreditation site visit.

    Guest were introduced – Richard Keith, our accountant, and Elizabeth Cazyoux, potential Culinary student.
