ACFNO Joins the Celebration: Honoring 200 Years of Jefferson Parish
April 11, 2025
One of the highlights of the bicentennial festivities is the King Cake celebration around the carousel at Lafrenière Park, a community gathering that pays tribute to one of Louisiana’s most cherished traditions.
The American Culinary Federation New Orleans Chapter (ACFNO) is proud to play a key role in the 200-year celebration of Jefferson Parish. Under the leadership of newly elected President Ron Iafrate, along with dedicated members Paula Cunningham, Joe St. Paul, Ruth Verisco, and Ben Sarrat, ACFNO is committed to showcasing the culinary heritage that defines the region. With the support of Charles Deal and our local partner, Performance Food Group and Boars Head Meats, we are excited to bring a variety of culinary experiences to this historic event.
One of the highlights of the bicentennial festivities is the King Cake celebration around the carousel at Lafrenière Park, a community gathering that pays tribute to one of Louisiana’s most cherished traditions. ACFNO chefs will participate in this unique event, King Cakes around the carousel , sharing the cultural significance of this beloved treat with residents and visitors alike.
Through chef showcases, cooking demonstrations, and educational outreach, ACFNO aims to honor the past while inspiring the future of Louisiana cuisine. By working hand-in-hand with Jefferson Parish leaders and our culinary partners, we are ensuring that the bicentennial is not only a reflection of history but a celebration of the flavors and traditions that continue to define our vibrant community.
